We are looking for a Manual Machinist to join our Core team in La Porte.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to calculate dimensions not specified on print
  • Work with Department Supervisor to develop a machine plan
  • Capable of operating all machines in the shop (including large mills, lathes, stripping
  • machine, manual lathe, VTL, tool post grinders, and other equipment)
  • Work closely and clearly communicates with the other departments, Machine personnel,
  • Supervisor, and Lead Man
  • Operate machine to make complex angle cuts and threading where multiple speeds and feeds are required

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Must have experience working with turbo machinery
  • Must have the required tools to perform their expected tasks
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary
  • Must be able to use precision measuring instruments
