We are looking for a/an Designer Advanced Technology to join our Services_AME team in United States .
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Create a 3D model of objects using parametric modeling techniques. Develop fixturing and tooling to aid in Component repair process.
- Create standards-based 2D drawings to define inspections, repair processes and manufacturing of new components, required tooling and fixtures.
- Ability to take a physical object and use contact and non-contact measurement techniques to fully define and generate digital files.
- Learn to use the latest technology for inspections and process streamlining.
- Aid the shop floor with advanced measurements to provide higher quality services to customers and improved turnaround time.
- Identify problems and areas of improvement and notify management accordingly.
- Develop and maintain tools and procedures implemented within the department.
- Support operations quality improvements.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field of study. Applicants with the equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of work with turbomachinery, rotating/stationary equipment or similar machinery design and repair.
- Deep understanding and extensive application experience of the product development standards (ASME Y14, GD&T, etc.) and best practices.
- High level of proficiency with advanced CAD / CAM and PLM technologies using Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or similar software tools.
- Knowledge and practical application of industrial 3D Scanning is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability learn technical aspects of the design and repair for the rotating equipment components and subsystems.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with varying schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites to perform design related activities (less than 10% of time).
