Design Engineer - Full Time - HungerfordUnited Kingdom


Join our APS team within medmix division in United Kingdom as Design Engineer 

Do you like seeing a product evolve from concept, design, and launch to being tried and tested throughout its life cycle? Are you looking for a fast-paced role in a market-leading innovative company that is constantly evolving? We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to ensure our dispensers and applicators continue to be innovative and industry-leading from concept and throughout their entire life cycle, to help take us to the next level.  As part of the design team, you will assist in the design and launch of new products and help develop and evolve our existing products to ensure they are continually meeting the needs of our customers.


In this role you will be accountable for: –

  • Lead the new product development of handheld manual, pneumatic and cordless dispensing equipment from concept to production
  • To produce appropriate documentation to enable the production and certification of dispensing tools
  • To assist the Quality and Manufacturing Engineering team in diagnosing problems and in making improvements to existing products
  • Use of CAD tools to design new products with production of 3D models/assemblies and associated 2D technical drawings
  • Assist in test and verification of products
  • Identify and develop new technologies to support strategic product development


To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 1st or (upper) 2nd class engineering degree, or equivalent, in product design engineering/ industrial design, mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in designing electromechanical equipment or experience of electromechanical systems; experience of tool/personal equipment design desirable
  • Experience in designing for multiple manufacturing methods, including additive manufacturing 
  • Experience in managing both in-house and outsourced engineering activities.
  • Experience of working in a Quality Assured environment using standard tools such as DFMEA, DVP&R, control plans, etc. 
  • Experience in writing technical reports; ability to write technical documents for publication is desirable
  • Good verbal communication skills; experience presenting the technical subject matter to non-technical audiences desirable
  • Proficient in the use of CAD tools (Autodesk), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with MRP tools (SAP) is desirable

Location: We are based in Hungerford. The charming market town is conveniently placed for access to the local towns of Swindon and Newbury, with Great transportation links being just off junction 14 of the M4 motorway. Hungerford is also on the main train line from London Paddington to the West Country.
