Join our team within group procurement as Systems Manager Global Logistics. 

 

You will be responsible for standardization of logistics processes and project manage the implementation of a TMS solution within Sulzer Business Units (BU’s). The Systems Manager Global Logistics will interact with Operations, Group IT, Finance, Digital Procurement and Procurement teams supporting the definition and delivery of business solutions for locations based on defined business processes and functional requirements.


In this role you will be accountable for:

 

  •    Define and drive process and productivity improvements into existing operations based on analysis of existing processes versus system capabilities and anticipated gains. 
  •     Train and mentor Sulzer BU Logistics Leads on solutions and best practices in support of implementations and continuous improvement
  •     Assist with analysis of operational requirements and solution design
  •     Provide subject matter expertise in development of system requirements and Concept of Operations
  •     Translate business requirements into system requirements, technical specifications and logical data mappings for integration
  •     Manage testing, training, implementation and support of the system requirements
  •     Participate in on-site implementation and business interaction to ensure successful delivery of business requirements
  •     Promote and deliver project documentation to standardize and support Implementation / Fulfillment initiatives
  •     Ensure all customer and business process enhancement requests are aligned with the scope of the system
  •     Own the vision and direction of the TMS solution. Define product vision, roadmap and growth opportunities.
  •     Stay abreast of market, user, and industry trends in order to create a viable roadmap for the product.
  •     Effectively balance BU expectations with internal capabilities & constraints.
  •     Coordinate all upgrades with the vendor while engaging the user community to test product releases. 
  •     Be able to be a Change Agent for the organization and engage the user community to train and ensure new processes are adhered to while stopping old processes.
  •     Lead multiple activities ranging from product management, stakeholder management.
  •     Willingness to travel (up to 40% - potentially higher in year 1 during implementation)


To succeed in this role, you will need:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Computer Science or Business Management.

•    At least 5 – 7 years of working experience with supply chain products including transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, or similar products
•    Demonstrated practical experience in data analytics
•    Knowledge of logistics processes on a global level
•    Manage stakeholder successfully in different time zones and cultures

•    Fluent in English
•    Experience using MercuryGate or similar TMS software, Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel and SharePoint
•    Experience using Business Intelligence Systems
•    Experience with SAP (Microsoft Dynamics is an additional advantage)

•    Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills
•    Excellent analytical skills to provide data analysis on trends and forecasting transportation spend, defined metrics, vendor metrics, etc.
•    Experience of working in cross-functional teams
•    Very independent working attitude
•    Ability to combine business requirements and connect them to the Group Strategies
•    Proven ability to define customer requirements and operational efficiencies
