Join our Services_AME  team within Services division in United States as Operations Leader to help us take Farmington EMS to the next level. 

 

Sulzer EMS is looking for a self motivated person who possesses strong leadership, people and management skills.  

This is a FLSA Salaried Exempt Position.  Compensation will be based on applicable experience, education, knowledge of industry, etc.

 

Job Description:

The primary functions of the Operation Leader include scheduling and execution, direct customer contact, employee development, and assuring adherence to SEMS procedures, policies, and practices including, but not limited to, production, safety, and quality.  This person reports to the Service Center Manager and works closely with Sales and Purchasing.  The craftsmen report directly to this position.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Job execution
    1. Reviews work scopes and time estimates with craftsmen prior to start of job
    2. Monitors performance against estimated or established time values
    3. Encourages efficient repair practices and strong pace of work
    4. Champions the elimination of wasted time and effort
  2. Customer contact
    1. Direct contact with customers on a daily basis regarding work in the shop
    2. Negotiate and communicate with customers regarding the customer’s needs
  3. Technical coaching and problem-solving support
  4. Procedures and processes assurance – makes sure the craftsmen adhere to the following:
    1. SEMS systems
    2. SEMS repair procedures
    3. Industry standards and best practices adopted by SEMS
    4. OEM specifications
    5. Customer specifications
    6. Documentation (work steps completed, test results and measurements, photographs)
  5. Resources assurance – makes sure that craftsmen have the following resources they need to perform their work timely (productivity), accurately (quality), and safely
    1. Parts
    2. Tooling, equipment, and supplies
    3. Repair procedures
    4. Technical data / specifications
  6. Quality assurance
    1. Observes and corrects conditions and behaviors that put quality at risk
    2. Double – checks work, measurements, and test results
    3. Performs a final inspection immediately prior to each job leaving the shop
  7. Safety assurance
    1. Observes and corrects workplace hazards and behaviors that put health and safety at risk
    2. Reports of near hits and injuries
  8. Craftsmen evaluation and feedback
    1. Provides regular feedback to craftsmen regarding performance (productivity, quality, and safety)
    2. Works with craftsmen to develop and achieve improvement and career goals
    3. Confronts performance concerns and carries – out positive discipline when appropriate
    4. Does annual performance reviews for every craftsman and reports to Human Resources
  9. Craftsman training and development
    1. Arranges and supports on – the – job training (coaching, mentor assignments)
    2. Arranges and supports technical training (classroom, seminars, OEMs)
  10. Approves non-job purchase requisitions for shop resources
