Manager Quality Environment Safety & Health (QESH) (m/f/d) - Full Time - EssenGermany

As Manager Quality, Occupational Safety & Environmental Protection (QESH), you will accompany us in the development and expansion of our Essen site. With a lot of creative freedom, you and your 2 employees will advance the corresponding processes for our production / service / and sales location. In doing so, you will not only keep an eye on the legal requirements and relevant standards, but also implement them unerringly and with an entrepreneurial eye. Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Focus on QESH topics: You will be the central contact person for all QESH-related topics and ensure that the goals of the group are successfully implemented on site.
  • Promoting a strong QESH culture: You will actively support the development of a strong QESH culture and ensure the local implementation of the global QESH goals.
  • Ensure compliance: You will ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and standards in the area of QESH.
  • Monitor key KPIs: You are responsible for monitoring and reporting on KPIs such as poor quality costs, on-time deliveries, accident frequency, and accident severity.
  • Regular audits: You will conduct regular informal and formal audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Leadership of the QESH team: You will lead the team of one quality engineer and one health and safety consultant.
  • Manage external service providers: You will manage external service providers in the field of occupational health and safety.
  • Analysis of KPI development: You will analyze the development of KPIs over time, derive insights from them and initiate continuous improvement measures.
  • Development and implementation of measures: You will develop and carry out corrective and preventive measures as well as projects or campaigns.
  • Education and training: You will organize and conduct training for the QESH team and the entire local organization, and lead safety drills.
  • Competence development: You initiate activities to improve and maintain the skill level of the local organization.
  • Resource management: You use resources and efforts in a targeted manner based on economic principles.
  • Customer and supplier audits: You will prepare and conduct customer audits and ensure the qualification of workshop and service teams. You will also conduct supplier audits to ensure a fully qualified supply chain.
  • Data management: You will collect data and documentation from suppliers together with the procurement and engineering team.
  • Support in Claim Management: You will support the Claim Management team with expertise and documentation.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Degree in engineering, quality management, occupational safety or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in at least one major QESH field (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment)
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant standards, laws and regulations
  • Ideally, initial management experience as well as experience in working with external service providers
  • Very good communication skills in German and English
  • Analytical thinking skills and the ability to implement sustainable improvement measures
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects at the same time
