Join our Sales department team within  Sulzer Services in South Africa as Retrofits Segment Manager to help us take our Retrofits Services and expertise to the next level. 

 

 Purpose of the job

Responsible for identifying opportunities for Retrofit and upgrade projects and driving them through to timely delivery of order intake.

 

In this role, you will be accountable for:

 

 

  • Support the Head of Retrofits with development of the overall regional strategy plan, sales plan and continuous improvement projects.
  • Acting as main point of contact and technical consultant to sales team or end user/customer (when agreed with sales representative) for all Retrofit enquiries and related activities for nominated region
  • Developing the account/region plans for delivering growth of Retrofit opportunities in allocated sales territory using technical knowledge and customer market requirements as the drivers.
  • Driving local Regional Sales team to work in-line with the strategic plan to identify opportunities and drive through to order award.
  • Support input to the Rolling Forecast (RFC) process for nominated sales territory in collaboration with regional sales and service managers / directors.
  • Responsible for driving initiatives within nominated sales territory to promote the identification of retrofit opportunities thru performing tasks such as technical Forums, health checks or asset reviews, customer visits, internal training sessions etc.
  • Ensure that effective client contact, relationship building, and management processes are in place to positively influence the client and create a pre-disposition to view Sulzer as the preferred source of supply and actively utilize the customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Complete competitor review on Retrofit strength on a half-yearly basis to support sales identification and drive to sales strategies
  • Maintain knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors, technologies, and leading customer strategies, especially in relation to the retrofit and re-rate business
  • Produce and review proposals and support overall tender process
  • Ensure that handover meetings and documentation are effective and result in a smooth transition from pre to post-order status.
  • Attendance at sales meetings and ensure that all relevant information from assigned area is available for the sales team
  • Actively promote Retrofits through social media and other peer platforms – internally and externally
  • All other duties relevant to the post

  • To adhere strictly to the company and national ESH regulations and operational procedures
  • To contribute development of environmentally friendly products and solutions
  • To participate and contribute to consultation process in health and safety related activities, where applicable
  • To report all ESH potential and actual incidents to line manager or site ESH manager
  • To help prevent and report any environmental and health and safety violations in the workplace

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 5 Years of relevant experience within related pump industry
  • Relevant experience within related industry – O&G and Energy
  • Experience of implementing sales strategy
  • Knowledge of technical sales
  • Knowledge of general pump upgrades
  • Financial/budget management
  • Good computer skills
