Join our team within the Services division in Canada as a Journey-person Millwright to help us take Sulzer Rotating Equipment Services (Canada) Ltd. to the next level. 

 

In this role, working under limited supervision, you will:

  • Assemble equipment to customer, OEM and industry standard specifications
  • Disassemble turbomachinery equipment to gain access to remove, clean and inspect components
  • Plans sequence of own work operations and methods of set-up including methods of mounting, leveling, aligning, holding and fastening work
  • Perform layouts; work according to requirements. Perform any bench work necessary to finish and fit parts to required customer specifications
  • Participate in activities to investigate and determine root cause failure of equipment and components; recommend repair methods and procedures
  • Duties as required in the assembly shop

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Ideally a Journeyman Certificate as a Millwright or be in a 3rd or 4th year Millwright Program
  • Completion of related apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Pump shop experience with specialized training in operation of shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, drill presses plus complete assembly, disassembly, inspection and analytical skills as they relate to the repair of all pumps and rotating equipment
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools, basic precision measuring tools
  • Working knowledge of tool geometry and application
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints, engineered bill of materials an asset
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Orientation to our company-wide ESH Management System, which includes following all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures of the Sulzer Safe Behaviour Program.
