SUMMARY: Develops technical and commercial proposals for standard projects including proposing modifications to the standard design and configures the using design and costing tools. Works independently on projects and develops technical and commercial responses to the customer. Follows up all inbound projects based on Front Sales role and is responsible for updating of the sales tools in relation to the Expected Order Dates and the chance of award.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Technical Responsibility • Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

• Works independently with general supervision

• Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.

• May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.

• Assists screening customer's inquiries to ensure they contain all information required to submit a quotation.

• Liaises with sales/more senior engineers/customers to obtain any missing information.

• Collects, understands, and interprets customer’s requirements for new and/or operating data from customer’s existing non-complex columns/units

• Adapts and tailors product specifications to meet customer design requirements, using electronic design software

• Works with customer to clarify specifications for materials to be used in product manufacturing (refers to Sulzer’s previous similar experience, but does not recommend or approve)

• Prepares the technical proposal/quotation for standard and more complex projects to the customer, including equipment description and specifications, and reviews and negotiates necessary technical revisions with the customer.

• Responds to questions and inquiries from the customer regarding technical problems and issues that arise and provides related technical support or assistance, in a timely manner.

• Upon customer order, reviews/approves the scope of supply and creates job file per Sulzer specifications.

• Limited independent technical and commercial judgement and decision making 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering Zero (0) to five (5) year’s similar experience, in a related field of Applications/Process Engineering (mass transfer/distillation)

• Has know how in the common simulation tools, as ASPEN or Pro/II

• Ability to understand and fully interpret customer’s technical requirements for standard projects, obtain all missing information and to document it and ensure it is communicated to the whole project team.

• Ability to prepare process designs, commercial and technical proposals for the company’s standard applications / non-complex projects

• Experience in the use of personal computers, including word-processing, spreadsheets, and CRM.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as required in working effectively with internal and customer personnel to interpret their requirements, and resolve problems and issues that arise

• Spanish and English: fluent TRAVEL: This position will require business travel (initially approx. up to 20%) - US Visa is a plus
