Sales Representative - Full Time - Chattanooga (TN), United States

We are looking for a Sales Representative to join our Services_AME team in United States.  

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

  • Regularly engages with current and prospective customers to assess and validate their needs
  • Promotes and sells Sulzer Pumps products to established clients, ensuring ongoing communication to confirm their requirements
  • Identifies and develops new customer opportunities and explores additional sales potential within existing accounts
  • Leverages support functions as needed, negotiating orders with a focus on technical, commercial, and legal details to achieve mutual satisfaction between customers and the company
  • Travels to customer locations to ensure close and regular face-to-face contacts
  • Secures and renews orders and arranges delivery dates and other peripherals integral to the sales process
  • Entertains customers during and outside normal business hours on a regular basis consistent with expense budgets and good business practices
  • Maintains sales opportunity pipeline within territory based on customers’ estimated requirements. Keeps records and makes reports to all involved of all phases of activity, as appropriate
  • Stays up-to-date on new products, services, and relevant industry information to provide valuable insights to customers
  • Refers customer complaints to proper departments and follows up to ensure satisfactory resolutions for all concerned
  • Keeps internal and external stakeholders informed of trends and developments in pumps, pumping systems, and market conditions
  • Maintains good cross discipline relationships within Company. Support New Equipment opportunities in partnership with Pump Services counterparts
  • Actively participates in and maintains memberships with industry-related organizations
  • Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and ESH Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
  • Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in quoting, marketing, or engineering of pump
  • Exceptional written, verbal, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in English, with the ability to work independently without supervision
  • In-depth knowledge of pumps, applications, and hydraulics
  • The ability to work efficiently and autonomously with minimal oversight
  • An outgoing and personable demeanor
  • The resilience to handle rejection while maintaining a positive attitude
  • A valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Proficiency in mathematics and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Salesforce
  • Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills to resolve problems and address objections from both internal and external resources
  • Willingness to travel regularly by vehicle and air, with occasional weekend stays as required by the assignment or territory
  • Business development experience with a well-established network of contacts in the EPC and End User client bases (preferred)
