Summary:  Quality Assurance Engineer/ Technologist (ASME Section III & CSA N285.0)

We are seeking a full-time, experienced Quality Assurance Engineer (or Technologist) to join our Services team in Canada, based at our Burnaby, BC facility. As we expand in the power generation market, particularly in nuclear services, the successful candidate will support the implementation and maintenance of the ASME N Stamp/CSA N285.0 Program. Responsibilities include developing quality program requirements, reviewing and approving work orders, purchase orders, and non-conformance reports, and ensuring compliance with ASME Section III, CSA Z(N)299, CSA N285.0, and ISO 9001 standards. The Quality Assurance Specialist will work independently, with occasional guidance from the Senior Quality Assurance Representative, and be fully responsible for maintaining the Nuclear Quality Program.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

  • Review and approve order processing documents as needed.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of ASME Code (Sections III, V, IX, NQA-1) and related standards.
  • Update and revise quality assurance manuals and procedures.
  • Review and provide feedback on customer and factory order packages.
  • Prepare and approve customer documentation per purchase order requirements.
  • Coordinate audits, certifications, and services with external organizations.
  • Review supplier documentation and prepare related customer records.
  • Participate in assessments, audits, and quality surveillances.
  • Represent the company during audits by customers, ASME, ANIA, and registrars.
  • Assist in developing procedures for welding, NDE, inspection, calibration, and special processes.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Code, CSA Z(N)299, CSA N285.0, ISO 9001, and ASTM/AISI standards.
  • 5+ years in quality assurance, with nuclear and industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of NDE principles, with NDE Level II certification preferred.
  • Ability to work accurately in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • May train, assign, and review the work of Quality Technicians and Inspectors.
  • Assist in maintaining quality standards in manufacturing operations.
