We are looking for a Methods and Process Technician to join our Services_AME team in Canada .

 

SUMMARY

Prepares methods, instructions, inclusive of machine setup procedures, tool lists, operation sequences, machine speeds and feeds, time standards, process routings and other pertinent data needed for manufacturing cost estimation. Define production methods required to manufacture parts and products of simple and ordinary design. Utilize established and documented standards and limited variations.

 

This position is eligible for full extended health benefits following a probationary period, and eligibility to participate in the group pension plan following a waiting period.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:  

  • Investigate production difficulties, determine cause; prepare disposition of non-conformance reports.
  • Estimate and coordinate repair jobs, workload graphs, prep material requirement requisitions.
  • Review part and product drawings, production schedules, specifications.
  • Maintain department records, files, maintain database of tooling, jigs and fixtures.
  • Assist with cost reduction studies; prep cost estimates and time standards.

 

Other activities:  

  • Document accepted methods and related data for standards references.
  • Prepare sketches of tooling and fixtures required for the manufacturing process.
  • Prepare rework orders; insure corrective action is complete to avoid additional rework.
  • Expedite in-house and sub-contracted work.
  • Initiate process changes or controls.

 

To succeed in this role, we are seeking: 

  • Equivalent of a university or technical institute degree in mechanical or industrial engineering; courses in machine tool design and manufacturing preferred.
  • Related experience in manufacturing techniques or the pump industry; mechanical education background or aptitude.
  • Understanding of a customer-focused service-based business.
  • Capable of understanding, writing, and applying procedural based work processes.
  • Strong organizational ability and detail orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
  • SAP or other ERP experience beneficial.

Pay:  $34.00 - $38.00 per hour (Full-time Permanent, 40 hours/wk, eligible for overtime)
