Join our team within the Services division of Burnaby, BC. Sulzer Pumps (Canada) Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager. The ideal candidate will work onsite as a member of the Project Management Team.
In this role, activities will include but not be limited to:
- Supporting the Project Manager throughout the full project lifecycle: order processing, execution, shipment confirmation, and payment collection.
- Acting as a key communication link between clients and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery of quality products that meet specifications and policies.
- Managing small projects independently (~80%) and assisting with administrative tasks, including document control (~20%).
- Reviewing orders, processing updates, managing change orders, and ensuring timely document exchange with customers.
- Preparing status reports, collaborating on schedules, and forecasting completion dates.
- Coordinating and hosting customer visits for witness tests, plant tours, and other activities.
- Supporting accounts receivable (A/R) collections and handling tasks such as budget tracking, order entry, and warranty management.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred) or a Technologist Diploma with relevant experience.
- Work Experience: 2+ years of project management experience in manufacturing or engineering.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with project contracts, terms, and financial principles (an asset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with scheduling software or SAP is a plus.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure with diverse stakeholders.
