Join our Procurement team in Burgos (Spain) as a Strategic Technical Buyer to help us take the Operations Team to the next level. 

 

In this role you will be responsible for conducting advanced negotiations with key suppliers to ensure the timely availability of products and services required for projects. You will need to consider factors such as price, quality, lead times, and appropriate terms and conditions to safeguard against commercial risks, in accordance with Sulzer policies.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

•    Lead the procurement of materials, products and services within budget and timescales, adhering to Sulzer Policies and procedures.
•    Identify and mitigate contract risks conducting deep negotiations with key suppliers.
•    Support Sales & Tendering teams in cost reduction efforts ensuring proper terms and conditions are flown down to suppliers.
•    Prepare technical and commercial evaluation sheets ensuring compliance to all requirements and like to like throughout panel of vendors.
•    Ensure timely delivery of purchased supplies meeting project and production requirements with the required quality
•    Expedite activities of suppliers and internal departments to support engineering and production progress.
•    Communicate and escalate risks to delivery dates and production schedules.
•    Maintain updated data on the ERP system for assigned responsibilities.
•    Identify, document and communicate lessons learned to all relevant stakeholders according to Sulzer Spain procedures
•    Establish working relationships with vendors to strengthen business and support company strategies.
•    Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers 
•    Explore alternate sources for goods and materials
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and business performance, adding value to the company.
•    Balance tactical execution with strategic initiatives to drive cost reduction projects.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

•    Mechanical knowledge (rotating machinery, materials, manufacturing processes)
•    Good at persuading and negotiating.
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
•    Teamwork oriented with excellent teambuilding skills
•    Proven ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with various departments, both inside and outside the local organization.
•    Adaptability: Capable to work in a continuous changing environment
•    Holds accountability for individual performance and outcomes
•    At least 3 years’ experience in Contract management
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
•    Fluent in English is a must
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
•    Availability to travel within Spain and abroad
