Operations Manager - Full Time - BristolUnited Kingdom

The hub of our operations is our comprehensive workshop facility in Portbury, fully equipped for the overhaul and repair of all types of rotating machinery. Leveraging Sulzer's global network of spare parts manufacturing centres, we ensure the availability of additional spare parts to support our operations. As the Production Manager at our Portbury Service Centre, you will lead operations, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of our core competencies.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the day-to-day operations of our engineering workshop, with a focus on driving efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control measures to uphold the highest standards in our service, repair, and overhaul activities.
  • Champion HSE initiatives, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for all team members. Implement and monitor safety protocols.
  • Manage and lead the workshop team, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, with a particular emphasis on implementing 5S methodologies for workplace organisation and efficiency.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Prior experience in a managerial capacity, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • A track record of successfully driving operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated capability to guide and lead individuals through a transformative journey.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Results-driven mindset with a commitment to achieving high standards.
