We are currently expanding our steam turbine and compressor business within mainland UK and are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team, playing a pivotal role in our growth strategy.
 
At Sulzer, you’ll be part of an innovative team committed to excellence. As Project Manager you will assume overall responsibility for all assigned project deliverables relating to the Inspection, Service, Repair / Overhaul and Retrofit activities relating to customers steam turbines and compressors. This includes engineering activities, financial and commercial outputs, quality documentation, dispute management, customer satisfaction and on time delivery.
 
Your main tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Allocate team resources as needed to conduct equipment assessments and to support live projects.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and ensure tenders meet service/product and pricing requirements.
  • Support sales and operations teams in preparing professional tenders with Project Estimator input.
  • Ensure tenders comply with company guidelines and have appropriate approvals.
  • Liaise with legal and commercial teams to manage risk through suitable Terms & Conditions.
  • Plan, brief and mobilise all required personnel, tooling and sub-vendors to support equipment inspection, repair and re-commissioning activities.
  • Oversee project timelines, profitability, and financial management, including invoicing and payments.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and suppliers to reduce risk and enhance future opportunities.

 
To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An engineering is background is preferred
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects related to service, repair, aftermarket, and overhaul activities
  • Experience of contract negotiation in a commercial environment
  • Supplier/Customer management experience
  • Willingness to travel
  • People leadership
  • Influencing and persuasion skills
  • Relationship management skills
  • Commercial acumen
