[[Sales Representative ]] - Full Time - Baton Rouge (LA)United States

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Create and manage customer information in the company’s Business Management System

  • Support customer visits onsite and offsite

  • Provide updates on customer projects; serve as liaison between operations and customer for updates regarding deliveries, customer service issues, etc.

  •  Responsible for executing the proposal generation process within the Business Management System

  • Revise or create proposals based upon inspection results or other in-process workscope changes

  • Ensure all proposals are reviewed per Sulzers internal delegation of authority and creatMargin Summary Review sheet

  • Manage the storage / archiving of the proposals and related information

  • The Terms and Conditions and handed to OM and/or ASM and/or RSM to complete the review process

  •  Manage the receipt, review and processing of all purchase orders associated with their assigned OM or ASM’s and business units

  • Manage the release of all project scopes and project hand-offs to the operations group(s)

  • Coordinate and manage as needed the resolution of project issues, questions, and concerns

  • Facilitate communications between the customer, ASM and operations group

  • Perform invoice review and proforma approval

  • Participate in appropriate meetings such as production and scheduling meetings to facilitate decision-making on backlogs and priorities.

  • Reviewing and processing summary technical reports for accuracy on completed client projects.

  • Develop and maintain skills and procedures required for the generation of the highest quality proposals

  • Support operations quality improvements

  • Takes personal responsibility for their own, and co-worker’s safety

  • Identify problems and areas of improvement and notify management accordingly

  • Ensure customer visitors have received the required safety induction, are properly signed in and have the required PPE while on shop visits

 

 

What you bring to Sulzer:

  • Previous experience and/or technical proficiency in the turbo machinery industry to include knowledge of steam and gas turbines, centrifugal, axial and process screw compressors, expanders, and other associated high-speed rotating equipment such as generators, pumps, gearboxes etc.
  • Expert level knowledge of business market in territory (Baton Rouge/Gonzalez, LA and statewide)
  • Experience in service and/or sales within the Chemical/Refinery/Power facilities in the listed territory, up and down the river corridor
  • 15 or more years working in the industry
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Outgoing and personable with excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to travel daily within the listed territory and other areas as required, selling field service work.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts
  • Must live in the  Baton Rouge/Gonzales, Louisiana geographical area.
