SUMMARY: Under the direction of a supervisor is responsible for the quality of parts produced on machines such as lathe, drill, mill, or machining center to perform operations within the capability of the machine.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig bores, grinders and shapers.

  • Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

  • Responsible for deburring own parts before moving parts to the next stage.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane proficiently.

  • Ability to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.

 

  • Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards

 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

       

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  None

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to take and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
  • Understand proper use and application of measuring instruments.
  • Basic math skills required, to calculate material fabrication.
