Lab Technician, Fractional Crystallization Research & Applications (m/w/d) - Full Time - AllschwilSwitzerland

We are looking for a Lab Technician to join our Fractional Crystallization Research & Applications team in Allschwil.
In this exciting role you will plan and execute customer trials as well as actively support on internal research and development (R&D) projects. You will conduct diverse practical lab work in the R&D field to improve sustainability in the chemical industry and develop future technologies. 

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Planning, execution, evaluation and reporting of customer trials.
  • Work in close co-operation with internal company stakeholders.
  • Actively support internal R&D project: planning, execution and reporting of various tests according to the needs.
  • Manage existing measurement technologies to support ongoing projects including calibration, sample preparation and measurements as well as training for stakeholders, namely Crystallization Sales, Project Managers, Process Engineers, InTech Test Center in Allschwil and the line manager of FCRA.
  • Ensure and respect appropriate ESH measures and "good laboratory practice" during daily business. Actively contribute to management of change and risk assessments. Respect safety regulations and quality procedures, report near misses, incidents and accidents. Consider LEAN aspects at work.
  • Occasional commissioning at clients’ site in Switzerland and abroad.
  • Responsible for laboratory management (cleaning, tidying) and chemical stock (disposal and storage of chemicals according to the storage classes and hazards).
  • Support and participate in the deployment of Technology & Innovation (T&I) Digitalization strategy.
  • Maintain and improve test facilities, support of process design.
  • Execute additional tasks assigned by line manager.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

  • Diploma as lab/chemical technician (apprenticeship, technical degree)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent English. German and French are an asset
  • Capable to prioritize tasks, strong sense of organization, independent work organization, team and customer oriented

The Fractional Crystallization Research & Applications team is part of the Technology & Innovation Business Unit of Sulzer Chemtech.

 

Location: We are based in Allschwil. This is a great growing place and is just next to the nice city of Basel, accessible via bus and tram.
