Service Engineer (Gas Turbines) - Full Time - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

 

Join our Services_EMEA  team within Services division in United Arab Emirates as Service Engineer (Gas Turbines).

 

Purpose of the job - to provide safe and effective site and workshop overhaul, repair, installation, and commissioning services of Sulzer gas turbine projects across the Middle East, Africa and CIS regions.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for allocated customers in respect of any issues relating to agreed on-site scopes of work; 
  • Carry out workshop overhauls & repairs;
  • Supervise 3rd party repair activities;
  • Lead and supervise on-site repair teams during site contract execution;
  • Site/Customer visits to carry out contracted works including borescope Inspections, gas turbine change outs, power turbine change outs, annual maintenance, troubleshooting, site surveys;
  • Provide continuous improvement in repair, installation and commissioning activities;
  • Develop and maintain good and effective relationships with clients to optimize further service opportunities;
  • Liaise with technical departments within Sulzer to develop engineering solutions;
  • Compilation of comprehensive site reports in line with company quality management system.

For this role, you are expected to:

  • Comply with and adhere to the Company’s quality, health & safety and environmental policies and procedures;
  • Co-operate with department managers and QHSE with investigation of any nonconformances relating to Projects and Field Service;
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the Company’s QHSE Management System;
  • Identifying and suggesting any improvements to the Company’s procedures and processes;
  • Participate in internal/external audit programs.
  • Preparing understanding and adhering to risk assessments and safe working practices.
  • Working in a safe and responsible manner at all times.

 

What you bring to Sulzer:

  • Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent / Mechanical Engineering technical qualification;
  • Working knowledge of industrial gas turbines, power turbines and associated equipment;
  • Previous experience in similar role specializing in Rolls-Royce Avon gas turbines;
  • Ability to understand and communicate illustrated parts catalogs;
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings;
  • Where formal qualifications are not held, suitable proven experience is essential; 
  • General computer skills (MS office);
  • Good written and verbal communication (English);
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Flexible approach, team player and ability to work independently.

 

Location: Abu Dhabi.
