Our Ellon facility is one of our advanced service centres in the UK, equipped to handle complex service demands. We are currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our Turbo Services division in Ellon. This role is crucial in ensuring that all inspection activities and reclamation/repair work specifications are completed efficiently while minimising disruption to our repair and service processes.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial inspections and reviews of received equipment, recording conditions prior to dismantling.
  • Perform dimensional inspections of components and ensure they meet Sulzer and OEM design criteria.
  • Execute non-destructive testing (NDT) as required and provide recommendations for reclamation of parts.
  • Liaise with Procurement to identify potential subvendors for reclamation activities.
  • Compile and ensure compliance with quality plans for each workscope.
  • Investigate non-conformances and raise reports using the ERP system for accurate documentation.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • HNC / equivalent in mechanical engineering and / or relevant experience within related industry including knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Good knowledge of turbomachinery design, construction and operation
  • Knowledge and experience using measuring equipment
  • NDT / LPE method experience / qualifications
  • ERP system knowledge and experience
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications
