Electromechanical Technician - Full Time - AberdeenUnited Kingdom

We are currently looking to recruit an Electromechanical Technician to support and execute the growth plans at the Ellon site in Aberdeenshire. This position is highly skilled role, and your expertise and experience will make a difference to Sulzer and the projects they undertake.

Ellon Service Centre works across multiple industry sectors and repairs a large array of different equipment and components. No 2 days are ever the same and this role will provide a large amount of variation and allow you to challenge yourself daily.

 

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Overhaul of all types and manufactures of Low and High Voltage AC motors and generators, rotating machines for an explosive environment, mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, and white metal bearings
  • Service, maintain, and repair all types and manufactures of DC motors and generators
  • Carry out dynamic balancing and trim balancing as required 
  • Contribute to on-site maintenance on various sites within the UK
  • Carry out laser alignment, dynamic balancing and trim balancing as required 
  • Identify any changes through condition monitoring including vibration analysis

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised Electrical / Mechanical engineering apprenticeship 
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical aptitude with previous industry experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the principles of quality assurance, quality control and health and safety legislation
  • Previous demonstrable experience of overhaul and repair of all types of electric motors including LV, HV, D.C., Ex. Along with other rotating equipment such as pumps and gearboxes
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt
