Electrical Panel Technician - Full Time - AberdeenUnited Kingdom

Become a part of Sulzer's Aberdeen (Ellon) Service Center's exciting growth! We are actively searching for a Multi-Skilled Technician to join our flourishing Electrical Services Team. In this role, you will be pivotal in the manufacturing and repair of control panels, conducting meticulous electrical inspections, and maintaining both EX and non-EX equipment. Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys at customer sites to assess project requirements and define scope of work.
  • Assemble, wire, and test control panels according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
  • Perform comprehensive electrical inspections and maintenance on both EX and non-EX equipment.
  • Conduct COMPEX inspections on equipment in workshops and at customer locations.
  • Interpret and understand schematic diagrams for effective wiring of control panels.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of EX standards for explosion-protected equipment (EEXd, EEXe, EExp, EExn)
  • Excellent fault-finding skills and a deep understanding of complex electrical systems
  • Hazardous Area Competency certificate, Compex, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and condition-based monitoring
  • Understanding of quality assurance in testing and operating electrical equipment
  • Advantageous familiarity with on and offshore wiring standards
  • Strong hand skills for intricate tasks
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes effectively
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Competent computer literacy for job support
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
